## The client

Stine Home + Yard is a long-standing local and regional retailer in the United States, specializing in home improvement. It set out to strengthen its digital presence.

## The challenge

Facing a surge in consumer demand, Stine Home + Yard set out to transform its online store. It wanted a better shopping experience for its customers, which meant new features, a much larger product catalog, and a complete visual refresh.

Before automation, the team relied on manual testing, which was slow and sometimes error-prone. Stine needed a more efficient and rigorous approach to:

- Minimize errors, and ideally eliminate them
- Improve how the website works
- Streamline manual quality assurance
- Keep up with a fast-growing product range

## What we did

We introduced the **Light package** of RetailVerify. We built a suite of automated tests that checks the website end to end, from product listings to checkout. Using Cypress, we automated testing for both web and mobile, so the store works across a wide range of devices and browsers.

## The results

- **90% fewer bugs.** Automated testing removed persistent bugs and greatly improved the shopping experience.
- **33% fewer hotfixes.** Far fewer urgent fixes were needed after releases.
- **125% faster release cycle.** Before RetailVerify, Stine released updates once every several months. With automation it moved to one or two releases a month. Automated smoke tests ran across development, staging, and production in less than 24 hours.
- **Time and cost savings.** Testing that took 4 man-days now takes 2 hours.

## What comes next

The partnership keeps evolving. Plans include more advanced test scenarios, continuous testing, and wider test coverage.
